The Marathon du Boutenac en Corbières is a 42-kilometer gourmet marathon in the Aude region of southern France, run during grape harvest season. It begins at the Château de Boutenac in the village center and can be completed solo or as a relay. Wine tasting is integrated into the day, not reserved for the finish. Organizers describe it as Occitanie’s first festive gourmet marathon, aiming for runners to complete a real marathon while experiencing the Corbières wine country intimately.
The route crosses several communes, including Montséret near the halfway mark, serving as the second relay point for teams. Runners pass through locations like Thézan-les-Corbières and proceed toward Saint-André-de-Roquelongue, where the cooperative winery provides a refreshment stop. Approximately 450 participants took part in the inaugural event, with teams traveling from as distant as Vendée. Run & Trail d’Ornaisons coordinates the race, supported by local volunteers, officials, a stage announcer, and winemakers offering tastings along the path.
