The Trail Pom'haies vergers begins in Cambremer, near Lisieux in Calvados, leading runners directly into the apple-growing region of the Pays d'Auge. This timed nature race, organized by AO2C, is conducted as a single-stage event where each participant sets their own pace. Standard options include short to mid-distance trails, typically around 11, 15, or 16 km, with longer routes of approximately 26 or 30 km available depending on the specific edition.
The course navigates paths, single-track trails, orchards, woods, undergrowth, cider farms, and a mix of private and communal tracks surrounding Cambremer. Participants will go through the village, take a detour past the Grange aux dimes, follow a small path towards the Manoir du Bais, and cross through cellars of cider and calvados producers. The terrain has hills rather than flat stretches, accommodating a wide range of participants from junior categories to veteran runners, supported by approximately one hundred volunteers who assist in managing and securing the event.
