The Hard Yard Trail Race begins and ends on an 800-year-old avenue of yew trees at Chilton Manor Farm in Chilton Candover, Hampshire. This trail running event offers two distances: a 10k and a 10-mile race, both starting from the same farm location. The 10k is for participants aged 15 and older, and the 10-mile race is for those aged 18 and older. Included are timing, live results, medical support, and complimentary event photography. Parking is available for a fee paid on the day, with proceeds supporting the landowners.
The courses traverse a combination of Public Rights of Way and private land, accessed with permission, allowing runners onto areas not typically open to the public. The direct finish returns along the yew-lined avenue, where marshals encourage participants and present custom sustainable finisher medals. Post-race, The Yard Cafe provides coffee and food, with seating options on chairs or straw bales near the avenue, allowing participants to relax before returning to the car park.
