Gran Fondo Marathon degli Stazzi

Gran Fondo Marathon degli Stazzi is a mountain bike race held in Scanno, offering two routes: a 63 km marathon and a 42 km granfondo. It is a stage in the Mtb Abruzzo Cup circuit, attracting approximately 300 participants, indicating a competitive regional event. The courses traverse the mountains within the Abruzzo, Lazio and Molise National Park, the Chiarano Sparvera and Monte Genzana reserves, and the protected zone surrounding Lake Scanno. A segment nears the well-known overlook above the heart-shaped lake. The marathon has seen participants like former Italian champion Luigi Ferritto, who finished ahead of Emiliano Dominici and Franco Casella. Other riders, including Ilenia Matilde Fulgido and Cristiana Pallucca, completed the course in over four and five hours, respectively.
