Bieg Wakacje na Sportowo 2026

The IV Bieg Wakacje Na Sportowo is a summer cross-country race held in southern Katowice, along the border of Piotrowice and Kostuchna. The event is based at ul. Ogrodowa 35, with easily accessible start and finish points. Participants can select between 5 km and 10 km distances, and the program also features Nordic walking and a children's race. This race is part of Wakacje Na Sportowo, a project initiated ten years ago to promote active, healthy lifestyles for children, teenagers, and adults. The route crosses the Ochojec Nature Reserve, a wooded area in southern Katowice, making it a trail-style event rather than a typical city-street race. The broader project originated with basketball training and competitions, and this race introduces another activity that also encourages senior participation. Families can bring children for their dedicated race while adults compete in running or walking events. The recent event attracted over 300 participants, noted by organizers as a record turnout.
