The Tyler Run for Autism is an annual charity race held in Tyler, Texas. It offers a 1 Mile Run/Walk, a 5K Run/Walk, and a 10K Run. This volunteer-run 501(c)(3) nonprofit is presented by Southside Bank. Each registration includes a donation to the cause, an event shirt, and a finisher medal. The 5K and 10K are chip timed. The 1 Mile option accommodates walkers, families, and those preferring a shorter distance.
Parents of children with autism established the race. All funds raised support organizations providing medical services for children with autism, community-inclusion programs, and assistance for East Texas families with therapy and medical costs. The event features a post-race vendor fair, overall and age-group awards for the 5K and 10K, and a largest-team award, integrating teams into the event's culture. Volunteers manage race-day operations, ensure course safety, and facilitate the day for runners and families.
