The Towpath Marathon

The Towpath Marathon is a fall race in Cleveland offering a marathon, half marathon, and 10K, all utilizing the Towpath Trail. The start is at Canal Basin Park on the east bank of The Flats in downtown Cleveland. The marathon course is certified as a Boston qualifier. Virtual race options are available for those unable to attend in person. The route follows the Towpath Trail, passing Cleveland landmarks and river-valley views. These include Camp Cleveland, the Towpath Mounds, the Cuyahoga River Valley, and the downtown skyline. It is the final race in the Towpath Trilogy. Every Trilogy race supports Canalway Partners, the nonprofit connected to work on the Towpath Trail, Canal Basin Park, and other projects within the Ohio & Erie Canalway National Heritage Area.
