Ambiorix Run

The Ambiorix Run begins and ends in Pliniuspark, Tongeren, a Belgian city connecting the race to the Ambiorix narrative. This single-day event offers street races and trail options: a 500 m Kidsrun, a 5 km suitable for most, a challenging 10 km, and a 21 km Caesar Trail. The road courses traverse hilly local roads, and the event includes chip timing, with parking, showers, and lockers provided. The course incorporates local history, guiding participants over roads linked to Ambiorix's victory over the Romans. The race encourages participants to connect with Ambiorix in Belgium’s oldest city, making the theme more than just a name. Awards are given to the top three male and female finishers in the 5 km and 10 km age categories. All Kidsrun and Trail participants receive medals, and the top three male and female Trail runners also receive prizes. The event benefits Kannet Vakantiewerking Limburg, an integration holiday program for children with and without disabilities, and Covida zorgboerderij Hoge Dries, an activity farm in Koninksem operated by adults with intellectual disabilities and their caregivers.
