Hamilton's Confederation Park hosts the Road2Hope race weekend, featuring a Kids 1K, 5K, 10K, half marathon, full marathon, and Hammer Challenges. Saturday's events begin with the Kids 1K for children 12 and under; parents may accompany them without registration. The program continues with the 5K and 10K races within the park. Sunday morning's half marathon starts and finishes in Confederation Park, sharing a 6.5-hour cut-off with the full marathon.
The shorter routes are situated near Lake Ontario. The 5K is a certified single loop utilizing the waterfront trail and service road. The 10K follows a flat out-and-back path on the waterfront trail. Road2Hope also includes the Mizuno Elite 5K, a competitive race with qualifying times of sub-15:00 for men and sub-18:00 for women. This event offers a $10,000 prize purse and a $1,000 bonus for breaking the course record. The half marathon is a single loop along Hamilton's waterfront, with aid stations approximately every 3K, a fruit-bar station at 12K, and pacers available from 1:20 to 2:30 in five-minute increments.
