Construction work has moved the Gehrdener Burgberglauf to a new loop. The 19th edition sends runners west around the Burgberg, deviating from the usual route. This June running event in Gehrden offers main distances of 3.3, 6.8, and 10.2 kilometers, alongside shorter options for children and youth.
The primary loop spans approximately 3.3 kilometers, returning through fields to the sports ground with about 50 meters of elevation gain over varied terrain. U10 and U12 runners will navigate a flatter 2.5 kilometer out-and-back course without significant climbs. The Bambini runs emphasize participation and enjoyment, featuring no formal prize ceremony, with every child receiving a participation reward. Electronic timing is used for the main races, which also include a tombola for participants.
