O wyścigu
The Jura-Radmarathon is a cycling event held in Lupburg, Bavaria, on the third Sunday of June. Sportverein 1959 Lupburg e.V., through its cycling department and with support from the broader sports club, organizes it. It offers more than a single road marathon: participants can select from road RTF routes, mountain bike tours, gravel rides, and a 30 km family circuit. The longest road option is approximately 203 km with 2,400 meters of elevation gain, alongside other RTF routes of 156, 118, and 80 km.
The event utilizes the Bavarian Jura for its courses, featuring rolling ascents, forest paths, gravel sections, and natural trails instead of flat urban courses. Gravel cyclists can choose a 70 km route with 700 meters of elevation gain, suitable for novices and casual riders, or a 147 km route with 1,700 meters of climbing for experienced endurance riders. Mountain bikers have five options, ranging from 30 km to 94 km. Road cyclists also have five RTF choices, including a 206 km route designated the Marathon Supercup. Consequently, the event attracts families, club cyclists, gravel riders, mountain bikers, and long-distance road cyclists to the same starting village.
