The REWE Team Challenge Dresden is a 5 km company run held in Dresden. It features evening wave starts from Postplatz, near the Kulturpalast, and concludes with a stadium finish at Rudolf-Harbig-Stadion. The event takes place in June, with staggered starts between 17:00 and 20:00 to accommodate large teams setting off together. Its 5 km distance is suitable for office teams, casual runners, and colleagues training as a group, emphasizing participation over competitive times. Laufszene Events GmbH organizes the race, which has been a fixture on Dresden’s running calendar since 2009.
The course winds through Dresden’s historic center, passing landmarks like the Zwinger and Semperoper before reaching the Terrassenufer. Participants encounter drum groups and rhythmic music along the route. The course then turns towards Rudolf-Harbig-Stadion, offering views of the Elbe, Königsufer, Staatskanzlei, and Dresden’s paddle steamer fleet. A Powerzone is situated near the finish before the final run onto the stadium grass under floodlights. Following the race, an After Run Party continues the event, aligning with its team-building focus where companies attend with groups of colleagues and friends, rather than solely individual participants aiming for a personal best.
