El Desafío Doñana is a long-distance triathlon held on Spain’s Atlantic coast in Andalusia, taking place in early October. The race consists of a 1.4 km swim, a 97 km road cycling segment, and a 21 km road run, positioning it between the standard Olympic distance and the full iron distance triathlons. The event was historically linked to Sanlúcar de Barrameda in the province of Cádiz. More recent editions have shifted focus towards Almonte, Matalascañas beach, and Doñana National Park. The race's past has featured acknowledgments of athletes, clubs, institutions, volunteers, and sponsors, and one year's event was canceled following a negative report from local police.
