Sobre esta prova
The Jura-Radmarathon takes place in Lupburg, Bavaria, on the third Sunday in June. Registration and the finish area are at the sports facility on Reiselberg. Sportverein 1959 Lupburg e.V. organizes this cycling event, which centers on long road rides but accommodates gravel bikes, mountain bikes, and families. Road cyclists can select from five routes: a 203 km marathon with 2,400 meters of elevation gain, a 206 km Marathon Supercup, and shorter options of 156 km, 118 km, and 80 km. A 30 km family route is also available.
The route selection is notably diverse for a small-town event. Gravel riders have a 70 km route with 700 meters of climbing or a 147 km route with 1,700 meters, crossing gravel, forest, and natural paths across the Bavarian Jura. Mountain bike routes vary from 30 km to 94 km. This variety attracts road cyclists, off-road riders, endurance athletes, and families, rather than a single type of participant. Start slots, excluding the unlimited 30 km ride, typically sell out quickly, with participant numbers sometimes approaching Lupburg's population. For SV Lupburg's cycling department, this is their primary event, featuring a lively finish area and a reputation for meticulous organization.
