Sobre esta prova
Tsurugisanroku Trail du Kamiichi is a trail race held in Kamiichi, a town in Toyama Prefecture located approximately 30 minutes from Toyama Station. The short course requires runners to complete 662 meters of elevation gain within six hours. The route is considered manageable by trail running standards, as it omits extended, technically difficult downhill sections. This allows less experienced participants to hike the ascents, descend with caution, and still complete the race. Trail running shoes are recommended due to potentially slippery sections, although standard running shoes might suffice. The reported 98.2% finish rate indicates the course's design and the support provided.
The course crosses shaded paths near Mt. Tsurugi, offering mountain vistas and a waterfall feature noted by a participant. Aid stations, providing cold cola, beverages, water for cooling, somen noodles, watermelon, frozen pineapple, cucumber, palatinose ohagi, kuromoji water, and plum syrup. The event also attracts notable figures in trail running; Tsuyoshi Kaburaki participated in the long course and a photo opportunity, and Azusa Isono was also present. Logistical arrangements for participants are convenient, with the Toyama Chihou Railway providing access to Kamiichi Station and shuttle buses to the venue. One shuttle bus even featured race recap videos on the return journey. Local elements are integrated into the race experience, including a Muhi-maker Ikeda Mohando notebook in the participant package, Kamiichi taro gelato, Kurobe tonteki, and an opportunity to relax at Inari Kosen.
