Morton Pumpkin Classic race and walk

The Morton Pumpkin Classic race and walk begins in Morton, with activities starting at 7:00 a.m. Participants can choose between a 10K or a 2-mile untimed fun run/walk. The 2-mile group departs first, then the 10K runners, a schedule designed to reduce congestion on the course, at the split, and at the finish. The course is flat, passing through town and toward Morton's outskirts before concluding on Jefferson Street, at the center of the Pumpkin Festival. The 2-mile event accommodates various participants, such as children, older walkers, strollers, and wheelchairs. Roller blades and dogs are not permitted in either event. Following the finish, participants receive beverages, snacks, music, a gathering area for family and other racers, and the race's well-known pumpkin donuts prior to the awards ceremony.
