Cycling-for-Charity begins at the Geschwister Scholl School in Bensheim, offering seven route options to support individuals with neurological damage. The event is organized by SSG Bensheim's cycling department and Willems on tour GmbH, a leisure specialist from the Odenwald Bergstrasse region. The day caters to various cyclists, featuring gravel routes, a family ride, guided groups, and entertainment at the school grounds with singer Laura Wilde and DJ Heinze Miggel.
The road routes span 45 to 65 km, with elevation gains from 110 to 960 meters. Ambitious cyclists can combine road courses for a 221 km brevet, gaining 2,580 meters. Gravel options include a 48 km route with minimal climbing and a 65 km route with 1,710 meters. The 30 km family route is flat, suitable for e-bikes and casual riders, and features an additional refreshment stop sponsored by Tegut in Lorsch. SSG Bensheim guides, assisted by former pro cyclist Jens Heppner, lead rides at specific average speeds. Companies can form teams of four employees to contribute to fundraising, and sponsors donate for each family route rider. Participants receive a DEE cycling jersey, with a functional shirt available for the family route.
