Grafschafter Ahrtal-Lauf 2026

The Grafschafter Ahrtal-Lauf begins at Am Sportplatz in Grafschaft-Vettelhoven, a village in Rhineland-Palatinate situated above the Ahr valley. Established in 2022, this local race day features a 10 km run, a 5 km run, a 5 km walk, and short children's races of approximately 400 m and 1 km. The main runs commence in the morning, followed by the walkers, with the children's races taking place later on the sports grounds and adjacent terrain. The 10 km course presents a greater challenge, involving around 180 meters of elevation gain through the Grafschaft forest towards Dernau. It includes loops above Dernau and Marienthal, offering expansive views that, in clear conditions, can extend to Cologne. The 5 km course is more level, utilizing numerous forest paths, and is suitable for novices or those seeking a shorter distance, although it does not descend into the Ahr valley. This event is part of the Ahrtal-TEAM-Cup, attracting runners, walkers, families, and younger participants. Its proceeds are distributed equally among SV Dernau, SV Hönningen, and Grafschafter SV.
