Mud Girl Toulouse sends women into the mud in Muret, just outside Toulouse in Haute-Garonne, Occitanie. The event runs around mid-May and keeps the distance short: roughly 5 km, or about 3 miles. It is an obstacle mud run, not a standard road race, with more than 17 obstacles built to be doable rather than intimidating. The race is for women only and is open to beginners as well as regular runners.
Participants can enter alone or with a team, and the point is to get through the mud, climbing, crawling, and messy obstacles together. The series calls its crowd the Pink Army, and its slogan is "WE CAN, WE WILL, WE ARE!" Mud Girl also ties the event to breast cancer support: since 2017, its community has donated more than $554,000 to organizations fighting breast cancer, and the Pink Army Foundation supports people facing the disease.
