The Brecons Fell Running, Trail And Yoga Camp is a weekend event held at Dinas Castle bunkhouse in Pengenffordd, near Talgarth, within the Black Mountains section of Bannau Brycheiniog National Park. This is not a conventional race; the weekend integrates three guided trail and fell runs, each approximately 6 to 12 miles, with morning yoga sessions focused on recovery and mobility. The bunkhouse is situated in a valley over 1000 feet above sea level, beneath the ruins of Castell Dinas, noted as the highest ruined castle in England and Wales.
The runs traverse upland valleys, ridgelines, and mountain trails, featuring steady ascents, technical terrain, and expansive hill vistas. Experienced guides lead the sessions, prioritizing skillful mountain movement and area familiarization over speed. It is suitable for runners training for extended off-road events like mountain marathons, multi-day races, or ultras, though all abilities are welcome provided they can complete 10 miles off-road. The weekend also includes cooked breakfasts, evening meals at the Dinas Castle Inn or in Talgarth, and access to trails leading towards the Wye Valley, Sugar Loaf, Crickhowell, and Hay-on-Wye.
