The Teanaway Country 50M is a 53.7-mile mountain ultramarathon held in Cle Elum, Washington, within Kittitas County. Taking place in September in the eastern Cascades, this point-to-point trail race features approximately 16,000 feet of elevation gain, over 15,000 feet of descent, and reaches a high point near 6,494 feet. The race is designed for runners capable of navigating challenging terrain, including steep ascents, rocky and technical trails, and significant distances between aid stations.
The course crosses single-track trails, alpine ridges, high passes, and remote-feeling Cascade landscapes that remain accessible from town. Local ultrarunner Brian Morrison established the Teanaway Country race in 2018, and subsequent organizers have maintained its grassroots character. The 50M event runs concurrently with the race's 100M and 50K distances and is eligible for the Trail Mix Fund, which assists with entry fees for trail runners from underserved and under-represented backgrounds.
