The Krakow Marathon takes place in spring, starting from the Main Market Square in Krakow’s old center. The race series offers a 4.2 km run, a 10 km run, and the full 42.195 km marathon, catering to various running levels. The main marathon is part of the Crown of Polish Marathons and the Gold Series 42, alongside Warsaw and Poznan, establishing its significance on the Polish marathon calendar.
The slogan is “run through history,” a theme reflected in the course. Runners pass Wawel Royal Castle, the Cloth Hall, St. Mary’s Church, TAURON Arena Krakow, ICE Krakow Congress Centre, and the Father Bernatek Footbridge. The route is within a city designated a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1978, blending a major city road race with passages by Krakow’s most notable landmarks.
