Isle of Palms Connector Run

The Isle of Palms Connector Run is a 5K, 10K, and Fun Run held annually on the first Saturday in October on Isle of Palms, South Carolina. This road race and walk takes place across the IOP Connector, with runners, walkers, and teams participating to raise funds for children in the Lowcountry. The route begins on Isle of Palms, crosses the connector to Mount Pleasant, and returns to the island, making the bridge the primary feature of the event. Participants enjoy unobstructed views of the Atlantic Ocean, the Intracoastal Waterway, creeks, marsh, and waterfowl. The race benefits local groups focused on child abuse prevention and healing for those affected by it, with all proceeds directed to these organizations. Over the past thirty years, it has contributed over $1,386,000, including a recent record of $200,000 distributed to multiple beneficiaries. Following the run, a festival includes live music, a children's area, vendor displays, cash prizes, awards, and complimentary beer for adults aged 21 and above.
