Bromont Ultra is an October trail-running and mountain-bike fundraiser held in Bromont, Quebec’s Eastern Townships. Since 2014, it has offered distances from short trail races to full ultras, with running options of 2 km, 6 km, 12 km, 25 km, 55 km, 80 km, and 160 km. The longer routes are significant mountain efforts: the 160 km race gains about 7,074 m, the 80 km about 3,537 m, the 55 km about 2,518 m, and even the 25 km route includes around 1,000 m of climbing.
The course utilizes Bromont’s steep climbs and descents, demanding strong legs as much as speed. Solo runners, relay teams, mountain bikers, club athletes, and charity-focused first-timers are welcome. Fundraising is a core element. Participants can use philanthropic bibs, create personal donation pages, or race in relay teams to boost fundraising. Numerous charities use the weekend to support their projects, and the Effet BU program provides additional funding for each cause. The race is also a UTMB Index Race, giving its trail distances value for runners tracking qualification and performance in mountain events.
