TMC Saguaro National Park Labor Day 8-Miler/5k

The TMC Saguaro National Park Labor Day 8-Miler/5K takes place within Saguaro National Park East in Tucson, with race entry serving as a day pass to the park. It features an 8-mile race and a 5K run/walk on paved, rolling hills through the cactus forest. This is the sole Saguaro race conducted inside the park. Southern Arizona Roadrunners organize the event, which originated in 1971. The 8-mile course begins at the Visitor Center, proceeding on a clockwise loop through the Rincon Mountain foothills. Runners will see saguaros, prickly pears, ocotillos, the Catalina Mountains, and the Tucson basin. The 5K is an out-and-back on Cactus Forest Drive, covering the last section of the 8-mile route. Prize money is awarded to course-record breakers, overall winners, and age-group winners. Participants get a souvenir shirt. The National Park Service permits race access, and runners must pay the standard park entry fee unless they have a National Park Service pass, which offers a registration discount.
