2026 Galactic Gator 5K Run

The Galactic Gator 5K will be held on September 12, 2026, at Fort Anahuac Park. This race benefits the Anahuac Engineering Design Class. The class focuses on advanced projects such as building rockets capable of reaching one mile in altitude, breaking the sound barrier, or traveling at Mach 1.25. They have also attempted to reach an altitude of 50,000 feet, with testing conducted by the Army at White Sands Missile Range in New Mexico. Students from this class have achieved several world firsts, including the first student-built rocket tested with FAA approval at an American airshow and the first rocket drag race at an airshow. The class is 95% self-funded through grants, fundraising, and events like this race. Join us for the event.
