The Landesmeisterschaft im Crosslauf der Förderschulen in Bad Freienwalde is a Brandenburg state cross-country championship for special needs schools, focusing on students with intellectual-development support needs. Laurentiusschule Bad Freienwalde organizes this inclusive event, with 18 schools from across Brandenburg participating, including teams from Schwedt, Bernau, and Eisenhüttenstadt.
The races take place on forest trails in Bad Freienwalde, which students from vocational training programs help prepare. Wheelchair athletes begin the competition on a 300-meter course, followed by races over 1, 2, and 4 kilometers on challenging terrain with some inclines. The mayor of Bad Freienwalde and the Laurentiusschule headmistress welcome the participants before the start, and local clubs and numerous volunteers assist the runners along the course.
