Om dette løb
Peak Raid Mountain Marathon 2 is a three-hour score race in the Dark Peak area of England, with staggered morning starts and a venue announced closer to race day. It is part of a four-race Peak Raid series focused on fell running, map reading, and route choice instead of following a fixed marked course. Runners use SI Timing and a pre-printed waterproof map, then aim to collect as many checkpoint points as possible before the three-hour limit expires.
The course may lead runners onto high moorland, limestone dales, and rougher off-path ground. Past race areas have included Mill Hill, Kinder Downfall, Ashop Clough, and the western slopes of Kinder. You can race solo or as a pair. The format allows stronger runners to push hard, while others can select a shorter or more cautious route based on ability, weather, and terrain. Strategy is important as each race area presents different challenges, and the best three results contribute to the overall league. Under-18s must run with a parent or guardian over 21. Entry closes before race day, and the finish includes hot drinks and flapjack.
