Mount Shasta Tinman Triathlon 2026

The Mount Shasta Tinman Triathlon begins at Lake Siskiyou Beach and Splash Zone, southwest of central Mount Shasta in Northern California. It takes place on the Sunday of Labor Day weekend at Lake Siskiyou Camp Resort. The event features a sprint-distance triathlon: a 750-yard swim, a 16-mile bike ride, and a 3.2-mile run. A sprint duathlon is also offered for those who prefer to bypass the swim, following a run-bike-run format over similar distances. The swim starts at the beach, and the run proceeds east along a trail next to the water. The Dunsmuir Rotary Club has long been associated with this race, with registration funds benefiting Wildcat Weekender. This program ensures local children receive food during weekends when school meals are unavailable. Participants can include college athletes, local age-group competitors, and visiting athletes; the University of San Francisco triathlon team has historically used the Tinman to start its season.
