15K da Virada is a New Year's Eve road race in Maceió, Alagoas, starting from the Memorial à República parking area in Jaraguá. The primary event is 15 km, with a 5 km option beginning shortly after, and both races commence very early to avoid the day's heat. Entry is managed with a race bib and wristband, creating a controlled environment rather than an open street event.
The 15K route includes frequent water stations at regular intervals, with additional water support near the beginning and end of the course. Runners in the 15K also receive isotonic drinks near the halfway turnaround. Post-race, participants enter an area offering fruit, water, massage services, and live music. Overall prizes are awarded for both distances, while age-group awards are specific to the 15K.
