Ultra Trail Amazônica is a two-day jungle race in Brazil’s Amazon, based near Manaus in the Tarumã Mirim region on the first weekend of November. It uses a Non Stop Survivor format, requiring athletes to be self-sufficient rather than relying on a supported road-race setup. Runners and mountain bikers can choose distances from 8 km to 160 km, with daytime temperatures ranging from 26°C to 40°C.
The routes traverse Amazon Rainforest trails, Rio Negro beaches, igarapés, and river sections. The race emphasizes close contact with the forest, including indigenous and riverside communities, and pairs environmental awareness with the sporting challenge. Participants must be prepared for distance, heat, humidity, rough terrain, and the slower pace of jungle travel.
