Volta Internacional da Pampulha is an 18k road race held within the Pampulha Architectural Complex in Belo Horizonte, Brazil. It begins and concludes near Mineirão Stadium, at the intersection of Avenida Antônio Abrahão Caran and Avenida Coronel Oscar Paschoal. The event employs staggered starts for wheelchair athletes, elite runners, athletes with disabilities, a select group, and the general participants, with the latter group starting in waves.
The course winds through Pampulha, passing by historic structures designed by Oscar Niemeyer, thus connecting the race closely to a prominent public area in Belo Horizonte. Registered participants receive medical assistance, hydration, snacks, restrooms, and bag check services. Unregistered runners do not receive additional support and are prohibited from the controlled start zone without a bib. Race kits and timing chips can be collected prior to race day at Power Shopping Centerminas, requiring a photo ID and proof of purchase.
