Vor dem Rennen gibt's ein Festival mit gratis Kinderschminken, Süßigkeiten, einer Fotobox, einem DJ, Bastelstationen und Spielen. Auf der Strecke gibt es zusätzlich Verpflegungsstationen mit Süßigkeiten. Das Event sammelt Geld für die Alberta Animal Rescue Crew Society, und in den ersten zehn Jahren kamen dabei schon über $82,000 für den Tierschutz zusammen. Kids Race Teilnehmer bekommen Medaillen, 5 km und 10 km Läufer können optional eine Finisher-Medaille wählen, und das beste Hundekostüm gewinnt ein Preispaket und einen Platz auf einer zukünftigen Medaille und einem Shirt.
