Der Manotick Backyard Ultra startet bei 692 Coffee and Bar in Manotick, Ontario, wobei der Ultra um 7:00 Uhr morgens losgeht. Wie bei einem Backyard Ultra üblich, geht's hier nicht um Schnelligkeit, sondern darum, alle anderen zu überdauern. Auf der Veranstaltungsseite steht ganz klar: "there is no second place and no conventional finish line". Die Strecke führt durch Manotick, mit Abschnitten auf Straßen und Trails, Brücken über Bäche, durch Parks und über asphaltierte Wege. Am Wochenende gibt's zusätzlich noch einen 5K mit Zeitmessung und einen Family 1K ohne Chip-Zeitmessung. Die Hälfte der Startgebühr vom Family 1K geht ans CHEO Children's Hospital, über den Griffin Bell Golden Endowment Fund. Das ist die zweite Auflage der Serie, und der Ultra ist schon ausverkauft – mit 108 gemeldeten Teilnehmern.

9runrun Ottawa is a run-or-walk event held at Village Square Park on Abbott Street East in Stittsville, west of central Ottawa. It focuses on emergency services and raises funds for the Ottawa First Responders Foundation. The event directs all money raised to the foundation; a previous edition raised $27,730. The Great Big Cookie Run is Run Ottawa’s final major race of the year, located at Lansdowne Park on Marché Way in Ottawa. This is a short, family-friendly event featuring a 5K and a Kids 1K. Participants can run, walk, or roll. The timing near Halloween includes a costume contest with prizes for those who dress up. The course travels through central Ottawa, starting at Lansdowne Park. Girl Guide Cookies will be distributed along the course and at the finish line. All finishers receive a medal, a personalized race bib, professional chip timing, and post-race refreshments. The race supports local Girl Guides and has been a fixture on the Ottawa running calendar for 20 years, integrating the cookies as a core part of the event’s identity.

Coupe Skinouk Course en sentier is an October trail race held at the Nakkertok Nordique ski centre, located at 900 Avenue Gatineau in Gatineau, Quebec. This event, presented by Euro-Sports, has been held annually since 2012 and is sanctioned as a trail event by the Quebec Athletics Federation. Originally conceived as a low-key test for regional cross-country ski club athletes prior to the ski season, the race is now open to beginners, experienced runners, and individuals seeking a forest race over a road event. The routes are entirely on trails and through woods, featuring rolling stretches interspersed with more technical sections. The program typically includes short, youth-friendly distances of approximately 1.25 or 1.5 km, along with 2.5 km, 5 km, 10 km, and occasionally 20 km options. GPX files are provided for several courses, aligning with the event’s practical, club-race atmosphere. Previously known as Trail X Skinouk and Défi Skinouk Leucan Outaouais, on-site registration is generally available shortly before the chosen distance, space permitting.

BougeBouge Gatineau – Spécial Halloween is a Halloween-themed night trail race in Gatineau, Quebec, taking place in late October. It provides 1 km, 2 km, 5 km, and 10 km distances, allowing families, new runners, walkers, and regular trail runners to select a suitable length for the evening. The race begins at 500 Rue de Cannes and is described in French as a “course des lumières,” a race of lights. Costumes are encouraged, headlamps are recommended, and the trail/mountain environment lends the event a more playful evening-out atmosphere compared to a typical road race.

The Gatineau Loppet, a cross-country ski race weekend in Gatineau, Quebec, takes place in February. Skiers can choose between classic and freestyle techniques, with race distances from 5 km to 50 km. A combined challenge is also offered for those completing both the 50 km freestyle and 50 km classic events.
