The Al Andalus Ultimate Trail, a five-day, 230-kilometer ultramarathon, takes place in July. Runners begin and end at the 4-star Hotel El Mirador in Loja, a city within Granada province, Andalusia, Spain. Shorter stage options of approximately 38 kilometers are available for those not completing the full distance. This semi-supported event requires participants to manage a demanding multi-day format, carrying race support throughout the week.
The course crosses the Poniente Granadino region, connecting Loja, Alhama de Granada, Játar, and Jayena. Participants will navigate technical trails, paved roads, mountain paths, and country lanes winding through olive groves beneath the Andalusian sun. The longest stage, spanning 62 kilometers, runs from Jayena to Alhama de Granada, with the initial 38-kilometer stage from Loja to Alhama de Granada. This event draws international participants, and stage finishes conclude at race-village campsites in local communities each night, instead of a single permanent base.
