Barretina Rural Fest is a rural obstacle-race festival in Siurana, organized by Unió Esportiva Siurana. It centers on a 6 km evening race. Runners begin at 6:00 PM, proceeding through paths, woods, and streams, encountering obstacles that require agility, strength, or resourcefulness. Entry includes a participant T-shirt and dinner, integrating the race into a larger village-style evening rather than concluding at the finish line.
Following the obstacle race, participants receive a Botifarrada, the traditional Catalan sausage meal, accompanied by ambient music. The festival continues with concerts until sunrise. Now in its twelfth edition, its appeal stems from a straightforward combination: a short, muddy countryside race, local food, music, and an extended social conclusion.
