Cross San Roque

Cross San Roque sends runners into the Pinar del Rey, a pine forest in San Roque, for a cross-country race scheduled in late November. The San Roque City Council organizes it, and the race is approved by the Andalusian Athletics Federation. The event uses two compact course options, 1,000 meters and 2,000 meters, with runners completing laps based on their age category. The field includes very young children through cadets, juniors, senior runners, masters, and veterans, functioning more like a community athletics meet than a single adult race. Male and female category winners receive trophies, every child in the children's races receives a commemorative medal, and all registered runners get the traditional runner's bag. The event is in its seventh edition.
