The Falco Trail begins at the Arco Romano in Cehegín, a medieval town in Spain's Murcia region, approximately 50 minutes from Murcia city. This mountain trail-running event takes place near the end of November, offering distances of 11 km, 22 km, 47 km, and a 71 km ultramarathon. The Quípar Sports Club organizes the series. The terrain is typically dry, rocky, and exposed, characteristic of southeastern Spain.
The courses traverse mountains, pine forests, lavender fields, and pale limestone cliffs surrounding Cehegín. Participants will pass Peña Rubia and ascend towards As de Copas and Pico Del Aguila. The longer races feature significant elevation gain on rugged mountain paths. The region contributes a distinct local character, with Murcia's olive oil, wine, figs, and almonds present in the landscape. Nearby Caravaca de la Cruz and the thermal springs of Archena offer convenient post-race destinations within the same region.
