The Juan Miguéliz Leyre Trail is a 21 km mountain race in Navarra’s Sierra de Leyre, featuring 1,400 m of elevation gain. It was established to guide participants through both the open and secluded areas of the mountain range.
Club de Montaña Trotecuto organizes the event with assistance from Fundación Geoalcali; the participant limit is 300. Luis Alberto Hernando, a world ultra trail champion, noted its appeal to both seasoned mountain runners and newcomers to trail racing. Notable participants have included Laura Sola, Oihana Kortazar, Víctor Amatriain, Xabier Zarranz, Raúl Roda, and Dani Aguirre. The race also serves as a memorial for Juan Miguéliz, organized by his friends, family, and neighbors following his death in the Pyrenees while participating in the sport.
