Über dieses Rennen
La Ribalera is a high-mountain trail race held in Tírvia, a village in Catalonia near the Parc Natural de l’Alt Pirineu. It features three challenging distances: 16 km with 1,060 m of elevation gain, 26.8 km with 2,040 m, and a 42.2 km marathon with 3,400 m. The marathon begins and ends in Tírvia, intended for runners with prior mountain experience capable of sustained, steep efforts.
The course is significantly more rugged than a typical trail race, presenting potential challenges such as snow, mud, river crossings, ridges, summits, cross-country sections, scrambling, and technical terrain, with limited forest track. The 42 km route ascends to Pic del Salòria, the highest point, and some higher sections require walking because of the steepness and the delicate mountain environment. The marathon is included in the FEEC Copa Catalana de Curses de Resistència and has a UTMB Index listing, though the field may feel intimate rather than large.
