Pamplona

Pamplona's running is dominated by the San Fermín festival in July, but year-round training happens on flat riverside paths along the Arga, with the Citadel loop offering 2km of urban parkland. Cyclists treat this as a base for the Pyrenees—La Miguel Indurain (180km) and its shorter variant (100km) roll through the foothills south and east toward Navarre's classic climbing routes, while the higher Aiako Mendi Duatloia and other local mountain races hit the steep terrain that starts 30–40km north toward the border.
