Prueba BLAN is a 154 km cyclotourist ride starting and finishing in Vitoria-Gasteiz. It takes place in September and is described by its organizers as the oldest cyclotourist event in the state, with origins dating back to 1955.
The name BLAN derives from the provinces along the route: Burgos, La Rioja, Araba, and Navarra. Riders traverse roads through all four regions before returning to Vitoria-Gasteiz, giving the event a wide cross-border character within northern Spain. Its extensive history also accounts for its nickname, “La Veterana de las Pruebas Cicloturistas” — the veteran of cyclotourist events.
