The Quijote Marathon de Ciudad Real is a city marathon held in Ciudad Real, Spain, featuring a half marathon that follows the same route format. Participants begin at Ronda de Alarcos at 9 AM, concluding in Parque de Gasset, with a five-hour time limit for the full marathon. The marathon course consists of two laps, while the half marathon completes one, ensuring both races maintain a shared urban focus.
The route crosses the center of Ciudad Real, passing landmarks such as Plaza Mayor, Plaza del Pilar, Plaza de la Constitución, Puerta de Toledo, and Puerta de Santa María. It also incorporates green spaces including Parque del Pilar, Parque de los Poetas, and Parque del Cementerio. The revised course design features fewer turns and ascents, facilitating quicker times and improved spectator viewing throughout the city center. Over one hundred volunteers assist with the event, and facilities for showers, cloakroom services, and bib collection are located near Parque de Gasset. The event also serves as the venue for the National Military Championship.
