The Triatlón Olímpico Ciudad de Plasencia is a medium-distance triathlon held in Plasencia, located in the province of Cáceres in western Spain. When held, it is scheduled for a Sunday morning and is centered around Parque del Cachón. Participants swim 1,500 meters, cycle 39 kilometers, and then run 9.3 kilometers to the finish.
The run course follows known routes within Plasencia, passing the Jerte River, the ring road, and Parque del Cachón, with the city’s cathedral visible in the background. This race is part of Extremadura’s triathlon calendar, not the major international circuit. Its recent history has been inconsistent: one edition was canceled, and the regional triathlon federation withdrew from organizing another after insufficient financial guarantees were obtained.
