Über dieses Rennen
The Ultra Maratón Costa de Almería is a trail ultramarathon held on Spain’s southeast coast. It is based around La Almadraba de Monteleva and the Cabo de Gata-Níjar Natural Park in Almería. Participants can select from 75 km, 43 km, or 32 km distances, accommodating both seasoned ultra runners and those progressing from marathon-distance trail events. The race commences in the morning. Its official description positions it as an escape from daily life and a challenge for individuals seeking long-distance running on rugged coastal terrain instead of urban routes.
The course crosses winding trails, exposed coastal stretches, and golden sand beaches within one of Andalusia’s most unique natural reserves. Previous editions have used Agua Amarga as a starting point, connecting the race to the small coastal villages and volcanic-like coastline of Cabo de Gata. The participants are primarily long-distance runners seeking a demanding outdoor challenge, with the 75 km event serving as the primary ultra test and the shorter options providing an accessible introduction to the same environment.
