AlpsMan Half Triathlon 2026

AlpsMan Xtrem Triathlon begins before dawn as athletes board the Libellule cruise boat, heading to the center of Lake Annecy. This is a full-distance extreme triathlon in the French Alps, featuring a 3.8 km swim, a 180 km bike ride with 4,000 m of elevation gain, and a marathon-distance run. The start is distinctive for long-course triathlon, with competitors jumping one by one from the boat before forming a line in the lake for the swim. The swim concludes at the Saint-Jorioz beach, where athletes transition on the lakeside esplanade before beginning the challenging mountain bike course. The race offers two distinct finish experiences: top competitors continue their run with 1,330 m of climbing to the Semnoz summit, while other finishers complete a flatter run route, ending back on the Saint-Jorioz esplanade. The entire event is centered on Lake Annecy, with the significant altitude gain being the primary challenge, particularly for those aiming for the summit finish.
