Course nature la maraîchère - Trizay

La Maraîchère is a nature race in Trizay, a village in Charente-Maritime, Nouvelle-Aquitaine, France. Held around mid-October, it features a 15 km trail race and an 11 km walk, both on single-loop courses. The 15 km trail is the primary event, with the walk offering a shorter, non-competitive option. The event’s slogan, “Of Nature and Adventure,” reflects a course set in forest paths and open natural areas, not urban streets. The route guides participants through woods and market-garden terrain, a feature that informs the race’s name as much as the landscape does. Stelia Aerospace organizes the running section. Past editions have seen over 100 participants in the race and walk, attracting both novices and experienced runners. The local farm connection is integral to the event’s identity, with a farmers’ market held alongside it. Top finishers receive large boxes of farm products instead of standard prizes. Awards are also given to the oldest and youngest participants, and to the last woman to finish, contributing to a small-community atmosphere beyond the elite competition.
