La Foulée du Cèdre is a trail race held in early June in Villelaure, a village in the Vaucluse department of Provence, within the Luberon Regional Natural Park. Participants can select between a 7.5 km and a 15.5 km course, with a walking option also available. Esprit Running Villelaure has organized the event since 2018, and the race is part of the Challenge du Pays d’Aigues. It typically attracts over 300 participants, including solo runners, friends, families, beginners on the shorter course, and experienced trail runners seeking a more challenging ascent.
Both races commence in the village center before transitioning to the forest trails surrounding Villelaure. The 7.5 km route involves a 3 km climb initially, followed by a descent through the forest towards the Villelaure plain. It passes the Marderic riverbed, then continues on a flat section for approximately 2 km before a final ascent to a clearing. The 15.5 km route shares the initial section, goes through the Parc du Cèdre and Tresemines, then climbs the hill above Villelaure, accumulating a more significant 400 m of elevation gain. PERFEVENT manages the timing, and participants have access to live GPS tracking via an app.
