Über dieses Rennen
The Marbella Epic Trail begins before dawn on Marbella’s seafront, heading directly toward the Sierra Blanca above the Costa del Sol. This ultra race, held in February, covers approximately 66 km with about 5,000 m of climbing, making it suitable for experienced mountain runners, not casual trail racers. Entry is limited to 200 runners, who must provide proof of significant mountain experience, such as finishing races with at least 4,500 m of elevation gain or completing the DESTROYER at Sierra Blanca.
The course starts at the Paseo Marítimo of Marbella and concludes at Fuerte de Nagüeles, crossing the mountain regions near Marbella, Ojén, Istán, and Monda. La Concha and the Cruz de Juanar are featured on the race profile, contributing to the fact that no runner has finished under 10 hours and fewer than 60 have met the 19-hour cut-off. Club Deportivo Ultra Trail Sierra Blanca organizes the event with assistance from Marbella’s town hall, and the Andalusian Mountaineering Federation sanctions it. As a relatively new event with only a few editions completed, the stringent entry requirements and performance metrics clearly define the challenge for participants.
