Perpignan

Perpignan sits on the Tech river in the plains of Roussillon, with the Pyrenees rising 50km inland and the Mediterranean coast 30km east. Cyclists dominate here—La Perpignanaise, the region's flagship 100km event, draws serious randonners, and the flatter coastal routes toward Canet-en-Roussillon contrast sharply with gravel and mountain passes climbing into the foothills. Runners find flat park circuits through the city centre and along the Tech, but most serious training heads to the cooler Pyrenean trails around 700–900m elevation or the coastal paths near Argelès for SwimRun and trail work.
